Anyone familiar with Robocopy GUI? I downloaded the tool and tried a
folder/file copy from one directory to another. Nothing happens and no
errors appear.

The behaviour your're describing happens when the GUI was not able to find
the robocopy.exe. This was fixed in 3.1.2 which is posted at
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/technetmag/issues/2006/11/UtilitySpotlight/
or you can copy the robocopy.exe into your system32 folder and it should work.

I have the robocopy.exe in the system 32 folder and it still doesn't work. I
cannot "Load" a saved robocopy job, and if I try to run the saved script I
get "Access Denied" in the command line window for each of the folders.

Any other ideas?

I'm having the same issue that I can't save the script or reload it. Any
suggestions? Also, after I get this working, do I add it as a service so it
continues running automatically?

I can make it work right, but only ONCE, I saved my script, but when I go
back in and try
Settings
Load
it does not bring up my loaded script. I can see the script file in my
Robcpy GUI folder, but am not clear on why I cannot load it.

Overall, the GUI interface is nice, but if I have to remember how to create
it each time, I was better off with my old-fashioned way of creating a
command line .bat file with all of my settings. Help Please

I had the same problem and reinstaled/updated RoboCopyGUI with no effect, but
now I found the problem:
I changed my directory structure a time ago, so that the directory for the
log did not exist any more.
RoboCopyGUI did not work and did not give an error :(
I corrected the path to the log, know it works fine again.

I use CopyRite XP
http://copyrite.dyndns.biz

It does not require the Dot Net framework or any install program.
Just copy the COPYRITE.EXE and ROBOCOPY.EXE to a computer (server or
workstation) and it works.

Plus, it is easy to understand. Lots of explanations of each option.
Very graphical.

Still problems with the GUI

I'm not able to use the "Load"-Function. I can save scripts but can't load
them. Clicking on "Settings/Load" nothing happens!

Any idea

I am having the same problem. I would like to be able to associate a file,
open it, and have Robocopy configured accordingly. I assume if I could save
and load jobs this would work but so far I can't get either of the settings
options to work.

Hopefully someone out there has an answer.

I downloaded version 3.1.2.0 to XP for testing and ran into the same problem.
Program would run but no files in the destination appeared.

The following resolved the problem for me:

The installation routine drops a copy of ROBOCOPY.EXE (The actual program
itself) into the 'C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application
Data\Robocopy GUI\Config folder.
The RobocopyGUI program cannot find it there, so it does not work.
The easiest fix is to drop a copy of Robocopy.exe in the c:\Windows
directory where it will be in the path. THEN the Robocopy GUI program will
work properly.

Do yourself a favour and get CopyRite XP
http://copyrite.dyndns.biz

It's less than 10 Dollars US and levereges RoboCopy much more effectively
than RoboCopy GUI IMHO.

You can get a free trial at
